Job Introduction

TENNIS - RACKET SPORTS COACH

Location: Various Neilson Beach Clubs overseas
Season: April – November
Qualifications Required: Minimum RPT Level 1, LTA Level 1 or recognised equivalent Tennis Coaching qualification
Eligibility: UK & EU passport holders
Salary: £625 – £775 PCM gross, depending on qualifications + monthly commission, shared accommodation, meals, flights, and an excellent overall package.

As a UK-based business operating overseas, we’re able to arrange the required visas and work permits for UK and EU passport holders to work legally in our resorts.

Spend your summer doing what you love – coaching Tennis and Racket Sports in some incredible Beach Club destinations.

You’ll help guests of all ages and abilities improve their game, build confidence and have a brilliant time on court, delivering everything from group coaching and social sessions to private lessons and more advanced coaching.

Tennis remains at the heart of the programme, with Padel and Pickleball adding even more variety to our growing racket sports offering.

Whether you’re newly qualified and looking to build experience or you already have several seasons of coaching under your belt, if you’ve got the qualifications, personality and enthusiasm to get people playing, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Tennis programme has been developed in collaboration with former world No. 80, GB Davis Cup player and Andy Murray coach Mark Petchey, helping us combine high-quality technical coaching with the fun, inclusive experience our guests expect from Neilson.

We also work alongside RPT Europe founder Adrian Rattenbury, providing our coaches with additional support, training and development opportunities throughout the season.

About You

You’re a qualified Tennis Coach who loves sharing your sport and helping people improve.

You might be taking your first steps into professional coaching, or you could be an experienced coach comfortable delivering advanced sessions, private coaching and premium programmes. Either way, you know that great coaching is about more than technical knowledge.

You’ll bring energy, personality and enthusiasm to the court. You’re approachable, encouraging and confident communicating with different ages and abilities, and you know how to make sessions challenging without taking the fun out of them.

You’ll work hard, support your teammates and be happy getting stuck into wider resort life when needed.

Most importantly, you’ll genuinely enjoy seeing people progress.

Role Overview

As a Tennis & Racket Sports Coach, you’ll deliver safe, engaging and ability-appropriate coaching to adults, juniors and teens across our Beach Club programme.

Your responsibilities will reflect your qualifications, experience and technical ability. More experienced coaches may deliver advanced sessions, private coaching and premium programmes, while also sharing their knowledge with coaches earlier in their careers.

We welcome coaches across all qualification levels and are particularly keen to hear from Level 2/3+ coaches with strong adult, advanced or performance coaching experience. The level of coaching responsibility offered, and salary, will reflect your qualification level and experience.

Tennis remains at the heart of the programme, but with the continued growth of Padel and Pickleball, we’re excited to develop a broader racket sports offering across our Beach Clubs. Experience or qualifications in these areas are highly desirable but are not essential for the role.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Deliver outstanding Tennis and Racket Sports coaching in line with the Neilson programme.
• Plan and deliver safe, engaging and ability-appropriate sessions for adults, juniors and teens.
• Deliver group coaching, private lessons, social sessions, tournaments and free-play activities appropriate to your qualifications and experience.
• Adapt your coaching to different ages, abilities, learning styles and individual goals.
• Deliver advanced and premium coaching where appropriate to your qualifications and experience.
• Support Padel and Pickleball activities where appropriately qualified or experienced.
• Help guests develop their technique, confidence and enjoyment of racket sports.
• Build great relationships with guests and encourage participation across the programme.
• Organise and host tournaments and social racket sports events.
• Share knowledge and support less experienced coaches where appropriate.
• Maintain excellent standards of health and safety across all coaching activities.
• Make sure courts, equipment and storage areas are safe, organised and well maintained.
• Report maintenance issues and equipment or stock requirements promptly.
• Support resort set-up and close-down at the beginning and end of the season.
• Be flexible and support the wider resort team when required.
• Assist with airport transfers when required, helping create a professional and welcoming first impression of Neilson.

Skills & Experience

You’ll be great at this if you…

• Hold a minimum RPT Level 1, LTA Level 1 or recognised equivalent Tennis Coaching qualification.
• Have a genuine passion for Tennis, Racket Sports, coaching and player development.
• Can communicate clearly and confidently with adults and children.
• Bring plenty of personality, energy and enthusiasm to your coaching.
• Can adapt sessions to different abilities, ages and individual goals.
• Have a good understanding of modern coaching methods and player progression.
• Are organised, reliable and comfortable managing your own time.
• Have a strong work ethic and are happy getting stuck into resort life.
• Work well independently while being a positive and supportive teammate.
• Are adaptable, resilient and able to stay professional in a busy resort environment.
• Are keen to learn, develop and respond positively to coaching and feedback.
• Can confidently communicate and instruct in English.
• Genuinely care about creating brilliant guest experiences.

We know coaches joining Neilson will have different levels of professional experience. If you’re newly qualified, don’t be put off by somebody else having several seasons under their belt. If you have the required qualification, strong practical foundations, the right attitude and plenty of potential, we want to hear from you.

Equally, we’re particularly keen to hear from Level 2/3+ coaches with experience delivering adult, advanced, competitive or performance-focused coaching. Your qualification level, professional experience and technical ability will help determine the coaching responsibilities available to you and your salary level.

We’ll give you the support and real-world coaching experience to develop your confidence and continue growing throughout the season.

It’d be a bonus if you also have…

• A recognised Padel coaching qualification.
• A Level 1 or above Pickleball coaching qualification.
• Experience delivering Padel and/or Pickleball activities.
• Experience delivering private, premium or intensive coaching programmes.
• Experience coaching junior players.
• Experience coaching intermediate, advanced, competitive or performance-focused players.
• Experience supporting or mentoring less experienced coaches.
• Previous customer-facing or overseas seasonal experience.

Qualifications

You must hold:

We welcome applications from coaches holding Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 or equivalent qualifications and are particularly keen to hear from Level 2/3+ coaches. Your qualifications, professional experience and technical ability will help determine your coaching responsibilities and salary level.

Recognised Irish, European and international coaching qualifications are also welcomed, including qualifications awarded through RPT, PTR, USPTA, Tennis Ireland and equivalent national governing bodies.

You do not need to have completed every required qualification before submitting your application.

First Aid Requirements

A valid Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate, or recognised equivalent, is required and must remain valid for the duration of your contract.

Your course must include practical, in-person training. Online-only First Aid courses are not accepted.

Commission

Alongside your monthly salary, you’ll have the opportunity to earn individual monthly commission from private lessons and racket re-strings.
